Pat Winston - The In-depth Bio:

Pat is an inspirational and motivational speaker and children's author of the Earl the Emu® series. She self publishes her titles under her company Light Way Publications. The titles in print include:

The series promotes good character and sharing the joy of reading. Pat frequently conducts workshops for women, youth groups, schools and churches. She is always accompanied by her mascot Earl the Emu®.

Pat earned a B.S. Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee and a M.Ed. Degree from Union University. She has taught high school social sciences and manages her husband's medical practice. She donates a percentage of profits from the sales of her books and 100% of honorariums for speaking to the E.A.R.L Foundation.

The vision for the Earl the Emu® series and E.A.R.L. Foundation were created to implement programs that foster spiritual and intellectual development. Pat seeks to improve the social and academic performance of inner city youth and give support to homeless shelters for women to promote self-esteem, domestic violence prevention and vocational programs. She conducts a bible study class for the women and for the youth at a local public housing unit. In existence since 2000 the E.A.R.L. Foundation has awarded a Pentium 4 computer, play station video game, $3000 to the homeless shelter and Christmas parties and gifts.
